Schüco Façade System FWS 60 CV
Enhanced functions and design options
Schüco Façade System FWS 60 CV
Bielefeld/Munich. Schüco FWS 60 CV is a façade system with a concealed integrated turn/tilt aluminium window which combines slimline face widths with optimum thermal insulation and high functionality. The mullion/transom construction with a 60 mm face width is available in two basic depths and with an individual attachment to building structure, for ribbon windows in standard and floor-to-ceiling designs through to punched openings including safety barriers in accordance with DIN 18008 (TRAV – German regulations for the use of safety barrier glazing). A key design feature is the seamless integration of vent and load-bearing structure. Fixed lights and opening units are indistinguishable from the outside. At BAU, Schüco is presenting a prototype with further functions and design options which are particularly relevant for architects and investors.
Schüco FWS 60 CV system enhancement
With Schüco FWS 60 CV, floor-to-ceiling, profile-integrated side-hung vents with unit heights up to 3.2 m will be possible in future. A rolled composite profile ensures the necessary structural properties here. Furthermore, profile-integrated toplights and bottom lights will be added to the system range.
Mechatronics is coming
The profile-integrated Schüco TipTronic mechatronic fitting can soon be used in turn/tilt and bottom hung vent units as well as in the new toplights and bottom lights. In addition to a high level of comfort, the mechatronic vents also offer economic benefits, as they can be used for automatic ventilation control. In this way, for example, the cooling load on a building can be reduced during summertime by means of night-time cooling. In order to reduce the energy consumption required for air conditioning during the day, Schüco has developed visually unobtrusive sun shading bolts which enable a flexible connection to sun shading systems and can be used for fixed lights, opening units, toplights and bottom lights.
Thermal transmittance of the façade
When installed, Schüco FWS 60 CV enables thermal insulation to passive house standard with Ucw values as low as 0.84 W/(m2K) (Uf value as low as 1.5 W/(m2K) including screw factor). The glass fibre-reinforced, compression-resistant isolator is the key component for achieving an optimum Uf value while also offering a high level of stability and durability for the construction. The isolator system is also an important element for the seamless integration of vent and load-bearing structure.
